Turkey For 2!

Happy Thanksgiving! Hope everyone had a happy and safe holiday:) Baby no-name enjoyed a delicious feast whipped up by his Mema (Karen) and his Auntie Jessica and he gave me strict instructions to eat until I felt like I was going to pop. The mac and cheese was his favorite, followed closely by the mashed potatoes and pecan rolls. Apparently he is a sucker for carbs just like his mom...

Anyways, I just realized that I have not made a blog update in a few weeks! Not that any of my readership (aka my 2 followers) were sitting around waiting, but still...sorry! I'll try to make this post a little longer to make up for lost time...

We had a routine appointment this past Monday and found out that I have somehow managed to pack on SIX pounds in two weeks! I had been worried that I wasn't gaining enough weight, so this was good news! While in the beginning I thought that eating 2,000 calories a day (doctor's orders) would be easy, once I realized that those calories could not consist purely of chocolate, cinamon toast, and sweet-tarts, things got a little tougher. My six pound gain puts me around the 15 pound mark, which the doc said is right on target for 29 weeks - so, I guess baby nugget is growing!

Speaking of baby nugget, he has become quite the active little guy. He still seems to favor the night hours, but his kicks and punches are creeping slowly into the daytime realm. I have been trying to figure out exactly how he is positioned down there in the oven...at times, my belly seems somewhat lopsided, which leads me to believe that the large hump sticking out my left side is actually his butt.

Another interesting little tidbit of information I'd like to share concerns the 9-hour "Prepared Childbirth" class we attended last Saturday. I somehow convinced Jason that this would be a good idea, that 9 hours would fly by, and that there would be information disseminated there that he needs to know and could not learn elsewhere. He is, after all, going to be my labor "buddy". Though I would rather not have anybody else by my side while I am trying to squeeze the little watermelon out, I got a bit worried when the teacher drew a certain womanly "part" on her hand and Jason leaned over to whisper that he thought he might pass out. Not sure how well that bodes for the actual delivery.

Anyways, I just wanted to wish everyone a Very Happy Thanksgiving!! We will be heading to Worcester on Saturday, so we'll have a chance to enjoy Turkey Day #2, made by Nana (Mom) and Queenie (Joyce) :) Can't wait!

PS- here are a couple pics from our recent trip to NYC. The cute little preggo in white is Jessica - Jessie's boyfriend, Justin's, sister - she is due January 20th with a little boy as well!

XOXO
