Progress on the Nursery!

Just Your Average Bean

We had our routine bi-weekly appointment with our OB last Wednesday. Got weighed in, and have gained another 2.2 lbs., landing me at exactly a 20 pound gain thus far!! She listened to the Bean-o's heartbeat and measured my belly and said that the baby sounds and looks great! He is right in the average size range, estimated at 4 lbs. now (week 34). By January 20th, when we have our 36/7-week ultrasound, the doctor said he will likely be about 5.5 lbs. If he then stays in the oven for another 4 weeks after that, he will continue to gain .5 lb per week.
Perhaps a bit more exciting than my weekly weight gain is the fact that our nursery now looks like a nursery! Gone is the big corner desk and the white shelves (finally!). Now, every time we walk past the room, we see our beautiful crib and dressers, a wonderful gift from Mema and Zadie Kenny:) I will post pictures soon. His bedding arrived too...it is white with baby blue piping and a gingham fitted sheet, super simple but very cute...I love it!! Now all we need is the little guy!!
Wishing all of our family and friends a very happy holidays and new year and sending you all lots of love!!
Here is a pic of Jason and I from Thanksgiving weekend (29 weeks) and also one of me from this past weekend in CT (33 weeks)...more to come soon:)

Turkey For 2!

Happy Thanksgiving! Hope everyone had a happy and safe holiday:) Baby no-name enjoyed a delicious feast whipped up by his Mema (Karen) and his Auntie Jessica and he gave me strict instructions to eat until I felt like I was going to pop. The mac and cheese was his favorite, followed closely by the mashed potatoes and pecan rolls. Apparently he is a sucker for carbs just like his mom...
Anyways, I just realized that I have not made a blog update in a few weeks! Not that any of my readership (aka my 2 followers) were sitting around waiting, but still...sorry! I'll try to make this post a little longer to make up for lost time...
We had a routine appointment this past Monday and found out that I have somehow managed to pack on SIX pounds in two weeks! I had been worried that I wasn't gaining enough weight, so this was good news! While in the beginning I thought that eating 2,000 calories a day (doctor's orders) would be easy, once I realized that those calories could not consist purely of chocolate, cinamon toast, and sweet-tarts, things got a little tougher. My six pound gain puts me around the 15 pound mark, which the doc said is right on target for 29 weeks - so, I guess baby nugget is growing!
Speaking of baby nugget, he has become quite the active little guy. He still seems to favor the night hours, but his kicks and punches are creeping slowly into the daytime realm. I have been trying to figure out exactly how he is positioned down there in the oven...at times, my belly seems somewhat lopsided, which leads me to believe that the large hump sticking out my left side is actually his butt.
Another interesting little tidbit of information I'd like to share concerns the 9-hour "Prepared Childbirth" class we attended last Saturday. I somehow convinced Jason that this would be a good idea, that 9 hours would fly by, and that there would be information disseminated there that he needs to know and could not learn elsewhere. He is, after all, going to be my labor "buddy". Though I would rather not have anybody else by my side while I am trying to squeeze the little watermelon out, I got a bit worried when the teacher drew a certain womanly "part" on her hand and Jason leaned over to whisper that he thought he might pass out. Not sure how well that bodes for the actual delivery.
Anyways, I just wanted to wish everyone a Very Happy Thanksgiving!! We will be heading to Worcester on Saturday, so we'll have a chance to enjoy Turkey Day #2, made by Nana (Mom) and Queenie (Joyce) :) Can't wait!
PS- here are a couple pics from our recent trip to NYC. The cute little preggo in white is Jessica - Jessie's boyfriend, Justin's, sister - she is due January 20th with a little boy as well!

Auntie Jessie Visits!
This past weekend Auntie Jessie and Uncle Justin made the schlepp from NYC for a visit! It was so much fun and I told her that we need to see them more often to make sure baby Beaner gets to know their voices while he is still in the oven. We went out to dinner Saturday night with Uncle Jonny and Auntie Popsicle. The bambino got to enjoy his first taste of sushi, minus the raw fish (which is the best part). After finishing off a pretty serious amount of sushi and about 17 orders of pork dumplings, we said goodbye to Jonny and Abby and continued the night at Abe and Louie's, where we devoured a monstrous piece of chocolate cake, vanilla ice cream, and creme brulee. Poor little bean was probably on a sugar high for the next 48 hours. Can't wait to see J and J in a couple weeks in the Big Apple! Here is a more current pic of the post-Douzo bump:)Lots of Love!

The Little Guy!

Here is the most recent pic we have of baby bean. It was taken at 22 weeks, when he was the size of a papaya and the length of a ruler. Now that I am almost in week 26, he has officially graduated to the size of a medium eggplant and approximately the length (width, I guess you would say) of a table runner, crib skirt, or the height of a full grown Pomeranian dog (14 inches). It is hard to believe he is that big but I am beginning to feel his kicks and punches in two places at once so I think he is stretching out and exploring his surroundings. This exploring seems to be especially fun for him between the hours of 10pm and 7am, so I think we might have a little night owl on our hands. Like father, like son! More pics to come...
Lots of Love!

Welcome!
I decided to start this blog as a way to keep in touch with all of our family and friends through the end of my pregnancy and especially once Baby W arrives! So many people that we love seem to be spread out across the country and even as far as Israel! We miss you all so much and want to be able to keep everyone updated. I have never created a blog before so you'll have to bear with me here - hopefully it'll go okay. To start off, here is a picture from 17 weeks preggo - which was 8 weeks ago! I will post a 25 week belly pic soon...Mom loves taking them any chance she gets, so I think I have a decent selection:)Lots of love!
XOXO
